Neighborhood Health Plan (NHP) ranked #2 in Medicaid and is one of the top 50 Commercial health plans in America according to a joint ranking by U.S. News & World Report and the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). The November 17, 2008 edition of U.S. News & World Report ranks the nation's best health plans and will be at newsstands November 10, 2008 (see also Neighborhood Health Plan).

The U.S. News/NCQA America's Best Health Plans 2008* list is drawn from data submitted from hundreds of health plans throughout the country. Plans were evaluated on issues such as access to care, prevention efforts, treatment of diseases such as diabetes and heart disease and members were surveyed on their satisfaction to calculate an overall quality score.
